OCTG Inspection

Visual Thread Inspection

Visual thread inspection (VTI) was carried out by our qualified inspectors. This inspection is detecting of imperfections occur on the threads, including cosmetic repair on minor damaged threads on both pins and couplings.

Visual Body Inspection

Visual body inspection (VBI) or Full-length visual inspection (FLVI) of the entire outside and inside surfaces, excluding the threads, shall be conducted to detect gouges, cuts, pits, dents, grinds, mechanical damage, lack of straightness, and other visually detectable imperfections. Each length shall be rolled and the entire surface viewed.

Drift Testing

Casing or tubing shall be drifted throughout its entire length to detect reduction in inside diameter. We provide Full Length Drift (FLD) and End Drift by using standard or special drift mandrels following API standard. This drift mandrels are available to serve customers. We have the drift mandrels for tubing size from 2 3/8”” to 4 1/2″ and casing size from 4 1/2″ to 13 3/8″”.

Length Measurement (Tally)

This ranges of tubular would be recorded and report to our customers. The measuring tape and laser distance meter are using to verify the length before sending to customer.

Wall Thickness Verification

Ultrasonic Testing is a family of None Destructive Testing base on the propagation of ultrasonic wave in the material tested. This would be carried out on used tubular to verified the remaining wall thickness comply with API Standard.

Magnetic Particle Testing

Magnetic testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) process for detecting surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such asiron, nickel, cobalt, and some of their alloys. The process puts a magnetic field into the part. The piece can be magnetized by direct or indirect magnetization. Direct magnetization occurs when the electric current is passed through the test object and a magnetic field is formed in the material. Indirect magnetization occurs when no electric current is passed through the test object, but a magnetic field is applied from an outside source. The magnetic lines of force are perpendicular to the direction of the electric current which may be either alternating current (AC) or some form of direct current (DC) (rectified AC).

Liquid Penetrant Testing

Visual inspection by using liquid penetrant method to find out the imperfection appearing on material surface.

Tubular Cleaning

Internal surface is cleaned by using high performance air compressor to remove mill scales and rusty inside the pipe. For Heavy Rusty Internal surface will be removed by using special rotating tool connect with motor run inside the pipe to eliminate the rust on pipe ID surface

External surface rusty is removed by sandpaper, in special case the circular wire motor is used to clear the rust.

Tubular Coating

  •     Internal coating with oil to prevent the corrosion on the internal surface.
  •     External coating with mill coat material on the external surface of used tubing and casing.
